Pitchers and catchers report for most teams starting this Saturday, and we at Fake Teams have been hard at work reformulating our positional rankings so that you'll be ready on draft day. Ray, Jason, and I will reveal our latest rankings position by position over the next several days, and Marc will be chiming in with his own tiered ranks as well. You can keep up with all of Fake Teams' ranks via our Google Docs spreadsheet:
Fake Teams 2012 Fantasy Baseball Ranks
These catcher ranks are for a standard 5x5 mixed league. I've included 30 players, followed by a few brief explanations, especially where there are deviations from previously published ranks, which can be found here (mixed league) and here (league-specific). Posey
any concern with his recovery from the knee and ankle injuries?
Ray Guilfoyle - February 13, 2012
Yes
but I’m cautiously optimistic. Buster says he’s 100%, and he’s already reported to camp early. It’s not a wear and tear injury, so if he shows his rehab well and he can do all the things he needs to do on the field, I’m not too worried. Bochy says he’s going to try to play him at first at least once a week, which should help.

...shows his rehab HAS GONE well

Wieters is going in the ~8th round on Yahoo mocks. Good value? Can I get stat predictions?

my projection
.275-25-85…breakout year

Napoli seems like he should be #1, or at the very least 2 or 3
Obviously there will be some batting average regression, but even so he should eclipse the marks you’re predicting for Wieters…

I'm lower on Napoli than most
It seems like people are counting on him playing every day because of the Rangers’ situation at first base, while the reality is that he played so many games down the stretch last season because of injuries. I think Wash manages his PAs a little more. I’m well aware that people disagree with me, which is fine.
I really believe in Wieters, though your comment confuses me somewhat since I didn’t make a projection for him.

Wilson Ramos
Sleeper? Seems like a sleeper to me.
TurnerTheBurner - February 19, 2012
He definitely has upside, but I don't feel comfortable ranking him above any of the 10 guys in front of him.
He’s currently being drafted 11th on MDC, so I’m not sure he really fits the definition of a sleeper.
